Running Till We’re Flying

This month has been a constant series of tasks and connections that must be completed before we travel around the world. Diana been enjoying the company this past week as I’ve been in Washington this week. And we have been managing to knock off important tasks such as Visa prep, shopping for clothing for the trip, and locking in the final details of our last days in the country.

As the days come closer, we are confronted with the reality of the fact that we only have 18 and half days in either of our home countries. In just 18 days, we will be fully pack, vacced, parked, and being driven to YVR to leave for our biggest adventure we have embarked on together, and both of our longest missions placements in a single country.

With Malawi being in south eastern Africa, there’s no surprise that the average travel time was between 25-50 hours of travel. Our fight will be leaving on Thursday February 2nd. Luckily, we were able to find an affordable option that was not 50 hours. With our first flight going from Vancouver to New York, and from New York to Nirobi, then finally Nirobi to Lilongwe, Malawi. With only 36 hours of travel each way, we will get to arrive in Malawi at a nice crisp 2am, with enough time to nap in the Airport before our ride picks us up at the Airport in the normal part of the Morning.

With it being my first time in Africa, and our first major test on our relationship, so far we are doing beautifully well, and Diana is simply kicking butt on her end as I knock off a bit of both as I have alot more time off work.

Our Biggest prayer request is Unity and Provision, as we are still not at our financial goal, and we are facing a large amount of stressful challenges in nailing down our logistics, we would love you help spreading the word and lifting some words up to the big guy on our behalf. Thanks for Reading- Jer
